Tim and Sarah Znidarsich met at UW-La Crosse while earning their degrees in Art Education. After moving to Baraboo, WI ,and getting married in 2015, they started their small business, Roundabout Press. Although just a modest basement endeavor, Roundabout Press has been a growing success and has recently expanded to having 3 large etching presses. Starting with a passion and a few different designs in 2016, Tim and Sarah now have a fully functioning etching and woodcut facility with acid baths, a drying rack, multiple work tables, a soaking tray, 2 large floor-standing etching presses, and 2 tabletop etching presses. Tim now specializes and focuses his time and artistic talents on fine art printmaking. He has created over 100 different printed images and continues working on new carvings and etchings each day.
The process for creating each unique design begins with a drawn concept which is then transferred to a wood or linoleum block. Tim uses his amazing carving skills to transform the drawing into a relief surface, which is then inked and printed on high-quality acid-free paper making our products truly handmade and one of a kind.
The range of imagery reflects the varied styles of both Tim and Sarah. While Sarah’s design tends to be more simple and modern, Tim’s imagery is full of line variety and detail. Sometimes they collaborate on a design to combine both of their aesthetics. These visual qualities are also visible in Sarah and Tim’s fine art prints including intaglio and relief prints. Inspiration for imagery often comes from nature, family, and travel. Hopefully, you will find a print in our collection to connect to and enjoy!
