Handcarved 2-stage reductive Linoleum print measuring 18" x 24". The image has been carved out of battleship grey linoleum and printed onto a high-quality acid-free 140 lb (300 gsm) cold press paper. This is a single-layer woodblock print. This is printed in a limited edition run of 8 prints and will never be printed again. The reduction component of this print makes lining up each layer precisely very difficult, which resulted in a much more limited edition for this given print.
Vintage industrial equipment is very interesting and has always appealed to my interests. The diver's helmet symbolizes a pastime and the incredible progression we, as the human race, have come. I have always been intrigued by how these helmets worked, how people actually trusted them to work, and the inherent danger associated with this invention. The unique textures and weathered elements within the composition intrigue me as a printmaker. This piece mixes my interest in extreme detail and precise linework while depicting an image that elicits a visual story within the viewer. This print fits into an 18" x 24" frame with a 1-inch paper border, or it fits into a 24" x 30" frame with a nice 2.5-inch mat. Amazing piece of artwork to display within your house, apartment, or business.
