Original multicolor woodcut print. Handprinted and hand-carved using the reduction printmaking technique. This image was created by carving and printing the block 3 separate times, with each layer being printed on top of the previous layer. The printed area measures 14 inches by 20 inches. This can be beautifully matted and fit a standard size 18"x24" frame. Print is a Limited Edition of 9 that can no longer ever be made or printed again. This print will be a statement piece for any home, apartment, or business. A lovely print for yourself, a loved one, or to give as a gift.
I am in love with mushrooms; their taste, color, unique bends, shape, texture, and flavor. The Morel mushroom is quite an odd looking and really fascinating mushroom in appearance, flavor, and ability to be found. The intricacies of the form that is inherent to the Morel will always stir my curiosity. This print is 1 of 2 variations I created using the same block sicne I could not decide whether I wanted detailed lkine carved into the inside "holes or not". I decided to make more work for myself and create two versions of this iamge.
